ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Valued ULAB Users,

Please be informed that sample testing slots will be scheduled under the "Equipment Availability" tab by the respective Person-In-Charge (PIC) of the analysis.

Overview of Services

The Centralised Analytical Laboratory (CAL) is service centre within the Laboratory Management (LMG) of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP).

With state-of-the-art analytical instrument and a commitment to precision, CAL offers comprehensive analytical solutions to researchers and industry partners across a spectrum of sectors, including self-sustainable sciences, and the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. 

Mission:
To provide an accurate and timely analytical solution with integrity and total focus on customers' satisfaction.

Aspiration:
To promote research excellence by ensuring that the requested analytical services comply with international standards.

Sample Testing Request Procedure

1. Plan your sample testing.
   Refer to the “Service Price List” under the “Request Services” tab for pricing details.

2. Initiate your request.
   Submit your testing request under the “Request Services” tab by filling out the form and clicking “Submit Request to Core.”

3. Quotation issuance.
   CAL will review and approve your request, then issue a quotation.

4. Grant utilisation approval.
   Submit the quotation to UResearch for approval of grant utilisation.

5. Slot scheduling.
   Once CAL receives UResearch’s approval notification, a sample testing slot will be assigned, and an email notification will be sent to you.
   Please ensure that your samples are submitted one day before the testing date.

6. Sample submission.
   Submit your samples at P3-00-04, Block P (CAL) on the allocated date.

   • Declare whether your samples are scheduled waste or non-scheduled waste in the submission slip.

   • Refer to LMG-007 Scheduled Waste Management Procedure_Rev.03.docx for waste categorisation.

Sample Submission Checklist

When submitting your samples, please include:

• Ensure the sample is placed in a properly labelled and suitable sample container.

• Completed Sample Submission Slip

• Related journal(s) (if applicable)

All items should be placed in the provided zipper bag and submitted at Room P3-00-04 (Sample Submission & Result Collection Room).

Result Collection 

You will be notified via ULAB Chat once your results are ready for collection.

Please note that CAL will only retain samples for one (1) month from the testing date.

CAL reserves the right to reject any service request that is incomplete, exceeds sample submission limits, or contains incorrect testing information.
